Guadalupe Free Clinic Repairs and Upgrades

After nearly four years of operation, the Clinic experienced some problems recently. The February snowstorm melting resulted in a leak in the roof in the Reception area damaging some interior wallboard. In order to repair the leak it was necessary remove the old shingles and repair the flashing before reinstalling new shingles. A ridge vent was also installed to permit warm air to escape from above the Reception area ceiling.

The re-siding of the Clinic has been a planned upgrade for some time. Since the flashing needed to be under the siding a decision was made to perform both tasks simultaneously. In addition to the new siding, the external fascia board and windows were wrapped in aluminum, soffits were installed to keep birds and creatures from getting into the interior of the roof area, along with new leaf guard gutters and downspouts. This action will significantly reduce annual maintenance costs and time. Attached are some pictures of the repaired roof and the new siding.
